ABOUt ME

Passionate About Empowering Others

In 2015, I was introduced to coaching and it revolutionised my life, so much so that in 2019, after thirteen years of working at a top ten UK university, I handed in my notice with the intention of setting up my own coaching company. Life was good, then I started to feel very unwell and was diagnosed with chronic anaemia. My health continued to deteriorate and I was admitted to hospital for an iron infusion. I realised I had to take control and own my life if I was to get better.

I decided to make healthy changes to my diet and lifestyle, first steps to help ease my symptoms. I changed to a mainly plant-based, seasonal and organic diet. I also grew some vegetables and fruit in my small garden. Nurturing the plants through their life cycle from seed to seedling to mature plant took me out of my own head and allowed me to reconnect with nature. Being able to harvest my own food and taste the goodness that food provided was the boost I needed. I started to feel better in myself, more energy and enthusiasm for life.

In 2021, I founded The Homegrown Coach integrating coaching with growing your own food and gardening. As a coach, I seek to understand the world as my clients view it, creating a foundation to build on. I work with my clients to create a coaching relationship that allows for curiosity, thought-provoking questions, challenges perceptions, supports, and offers reflection for contemplation, creating opportunities for my clients to empower themselves, grow and reconnect with nature.
